Two pieces, “Earth & Sky II” and “Grotto of Water Lillies” were chosen as part of the national juried exhibition, the 49th Annual Genyouten Exhibition at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum in Ueno, Japan. The exhibition took part Nov 1 to 8, 2018.
Earth & Sky II was also awarded a special mention by Kusukabe Paint. It is the second painting in a series that was inspired by the landscape of New Mexico. The colors of the clay earth and the blue sky are a reminder of the beautiful clear days and the artist’s roadtrips to Taos, NM and Pecos National Park.
Earth & Sky is 100 x 61cm and is Acrylic on Wood Panel.
Grotto of Water Lillies is 100 x 73cm and is Acrylic on Wood Panel.
The artist’s love for water and Monet’s Water Lillies inspired the final composition for this piece.
